Enable people, enabling business with smart technology

The culture of Lume is to help people, using technology. It is very much a ‘people centric’ approach to IT and telecommunications strategy, infrastructure and support services.

Lume uses its own base of experience and expertise to leverage technology specialists across the spectrum and bring them together in an efficient, co-ordinated and cost effective manner. Partners include Microsoft, Kinetics, Orcon, Solarix, Vocus, Ingam Micro, Express Data, Ubertech, Cisco and OCL.

In this way Lume has been able to help a variety of corporate, enterprise and SME customers get the best out of their technology.

If we report a problem, we know it is going to be resolved and they give us regular feedback and communication on how things are progressing. It helps us feel more in control of our technology.

“Lume is very good at communicating, and is very responsive, and that is one area a lot of IT vendors fall down on.
— Trent Mankelow, CEO OptimalUsability
We engaged Richard Cheeseman from Lume to provide us with the strategy background in the networking space – where technologies are going and how we could future proof the business.

“In particular we were interested in roadmaps, as well as an understanding of basic technologies, for the way forward on how we use wireless and local area networks.

“Richard understood our needs very quickly and got us to the right place in the right time. We’re very happy with the result.
— Chris Marra, Service Assurance Manager, Placemakers

The Illuminating Lume-ites

Marc Mohring -Keeping IT running smoothly

Lume Ltd systems engineer Marc Möhring is a previous business owner himself who well understands the valuable role of networking and IT infrastructure design when it comes to keeping a business ticking over.

“Our customers depend on their networks and connections to the Internet. Without it, most business would grind to a halt very quickly. Good design keeps things running smoothly and, if issues do occur, fast resolution of the problem is vital,” he says.

Marc is responsible for tier two IT and networking support, VoIP phone system design and implementation, Office 365 migrations and project implementations.

He has spent the last 15 years in various roles in the IT industry, including webmaster, sales engineer and implementation manager, not to mention a couple of years running his own small IT company.

Callan Vincent - Motivated to help achieve better business

Implementation trainer Callan Vincent is motivated to help clients come up with better business solutions by helping them to understand the technology better.

“I enjoy helping to upskill our clients’ technical abilities so that they understand more about the systems they are using, because I believe better knowledge equals a better solution.

“It is difficult to use a system you don't fully understand yourself. Even if you are not a power user, some cursory knowledge is valuable,” says Callan.

Prior to joining Lume, Callan worked for a smaller IT company where he was responsible for server migrations and network infrastructure and support, particularly with Windows systems. This general business support role gave him a solid body of experience around the IT needs of companies in the SME space.

Callan’s role within Lume gives him responsibility for general IT support, networking support, technical training, including on phone and network platforms. He also has experience in administrating and configuring CISCO Unity, as well as administration and migration for Office365.
